This winter there will be a Christmas tree in our Children's Area - and we need your help to decorate it! Children in grades 1 - 5 and their families are invited to make several small ornaments - some to decorate the tree and others to take home!

Thank You Veterans Card Making Program

Saturday, November 5, 9 am - 4:30 pm - Please join us in saying "Thank You" to our local veterans. Supplies will be available throughout the day in the Children's Area at Miller Library for anyone who wishes to make a card thanking area veterans for their past and present service to our country. Cards will be sent to the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit. If there are enough, they will also be sent overseas to troops who are currently serving. No registration necessary; everyone welcome. The Miller Branch Library is located at 5460 Arden (in the Warren Community Center). FREE Crafts For Kids Program

The Miller Branch Library, located in the Warren Community Center, is hosting a free Crafts For Kids program on Saturday, October 22. All children who come to the Miller Library will have the opportunity to make a Halloween or a Fall necklace. The program will run from 9:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. in the Children's Area. Teen Scrapbooking this coming Monday at the Busch Branch Library

Free! Teen Scrapbooking, for beginners to advanced scrappers at the Warren Busch Branch Library, Monday, August 15th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Pictures are all you need to bring, as the library will provide paper, stickers, scissors, adhesives, stamping supplies and a Cricut machine for you to make your own embellishments. Learn basic scrapbooking techniques . Space is limited - registration is required - please call (586) 755-5750.

Free Scrapbooking Program!

The Miller Branch Library is offering a Free Scrapbooking Program for adults on Monday, July 25, 6:00-8:30 p.m. Registration is required. Call 586-751-5377 to register. Please bring 3-10 pictures and any supplies you'd like. The library will provide scissors, paper, stickers, stamps and inks, adhesives and some die cut embellishments.

Miller Branch Library Re-Opening

Good News! The new carpet installation at the Miller Branch Library is complete. The library will re-open to the public on Wednesday, July 13 at 12 noon.

Holiday Closing

All Warren Public Library branches will be closed Saturday, July 2 - Monday, July 4, for the 4th of July holiday.

Miller Branch Library Closed

The Miller Branch Library is closed for new carpet installation. It is expected to re-open July 14. All other Warren Library branches are open during this time.

Fire and Ice - Saturday, January 15 at 11 a.m at the Warren Civic Center Library

Mad Science will present a family program called "Fire and Ice." Get ready for some sizzlin’ excitement! Join us for safe and scientific fun. Learn about the amazing properties of fire and combustion. Then, cool off with spectacular demonstrations involving dry ice. Programs for Children, Teens and Families in December

Warren Civic Center Library has several programs during the month of December:

Arts and Scraps for children aged 4 to 11 on Saturday, December 4th at 11:00 a.m.

Gifts from the Kitchen for teens 12 to 17 on Monday, December 6th at 6:00 p.m.

Winter Wonderland Sing-Along for all ages on Saturday, December 18th at 11:00 a.m.

Thurday, December 16th at 6:30 p.m., the Warren Burnette Branch will have a Christmas Celebration. Children ages 3-8 are welcome to celebrate the holiday season with us with Letters to Santa, crafts, treats and a Christmas cartoon. Some crafts may require parental assistance. PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT - Introduction to Genealogy

Come to a free "Introduction to Genealogy" program on Monday, November 8th at 10:00 a.m. at the Arthur Miller Branch of the Warren Public Library. Learn the basics of searching for your family history, how to use the Heritage Quest database to search U.S. census records in the comfort of your own home, researching vital records, military records and more using free web sites and Ancestry Library Edition, and discover a free genealogy program you can download to your home computer.

PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT - Adult Scrapbooking Club at the Miller Library

WHEN : Monday, September 27, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. in the Miller Library

This free program, sponsored by the Friends of the Warren Public Library, is for the beginning to advanced scrapbooker. Teens 13 and older are welcome when accompanied by an adult.

Please bring pictures and any supplies you'd like. The library will provide scissors, trimmers, paper of various sizes, stickers, rubber stamps and acrylic stamps, inks, several different kinds of adhesives and tools to make die-cut embellishments. Use the Cricut Electronic Die-cut machine, and learn scrapbooking techniques such as heat embossing and stamping.

Storytime Registration starts today!

Fall Storytime registration begins today - the sessions run from the week of September 27 through November 20th. For all storytime slots, Warren residents are accepted first.

Book Tots (Ages 1- 2 1/2 years with parent or caregiver) are held at the Arthur Miller Branch - Thursdays at 6:30 p.m., Friday mornings at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Call the Miller Branch at 586-751-5377 to register.

Toddler Time (Ages 2 & 3 years with parent or caregiver) are held at the Civic Center Library - Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. and 11;00 a.m., plus Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Call 586-751-0770 to register.
